Storm Barra: Flood warning issued in 28 places in UK

London, Dec 8: Parts of the United Kingdom has been hit with strong winds, heavy rain and snow as Storm Barra swept across the UK.
Flood warnings have been issued in 28 places across the UK for Wednesday, including in Sunderland, Bournemouth, Aberystwyth and Orkney, BBC reported.
The weather department on Tuesday issued severe yellow weather warnings in most parts of the country. As of now, only far north of Scotland has escaped from the severe weather.
According to BBC, about 3,200 homes in north-east Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales have lost power.
Aberdaron in Gwynedd has reported gales and blizzards as the wind speed reached 86mph.
A Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks spokesman said: “We are re-routing the network to restore customer supplies quickly where possible, and all faults will be worked on this evening and into the night.” UNI
