Have Dogra’s, Dogri and Jammu become a saleable item? The answer to this question is perhaps yes. If one goes through the political sloganeering, claims of leaders and their statements being raised during the last couple of months Dogra, Dogri and Jammu look like a saleable item or is being converted into a saleable item through a well planned strategy. But why is this effort being made and what is the motive behind this? As alleged and have been stated by various leaders of opposition and the intellectuals this a game plan to fool the Dogra community of Jammu region to get their votes in the anytime expected elections in union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This effort of further dividing the society is being made to polarize the situation and get the benefit of division as much as possible. BJP is expecting the division will go in its favour and for this the tag of Dogra, Dogri and Jammu will play an important role in realizing their dream. But on the other hand they are also befooling with west Pakistani refugees, Valmiki’s. Nepali’s, Pahaadi’s, and Tribal communities have the same plan of making baseless and unrealistic announcements of giving all types of benefits to them. So among these were Dogra’s and Dogri and above all where is Jammu? Which Jammu, Dogra and Dogri are being made an issue by these politicians? If all the above mentioned are provided the same space as is being publicized for Dogra’s, Dogri and Jammu then there is not much space left for Dogra’s, Dogri and Jammu. Upper region of Jammu comprising of Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri districts and major portions of Reasi, Udhampur and Kathua districts are inhabited by either Pahadi’s or by tribal communities and in the remaining districts of Jammu and Samba west Pakistani refugees, Nepali’s, Valmiki’s and other outsiders form a big portion of the population of these districts. Secondly, the people of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and a big portion of Ramban districts are not ready to include them in Dogra’s and neither do they speak Dogri. So according to this division, which is also being encouraged and projected by BJP, where Dogra and Dogri stand. In fact with this hidden plan they are marginalizing the Dogra’s and Dogri and dividing the Jammu in several parts. It will be very late if Dogra’s don’t understand the hidden plan of BJP and start opposing this, if not then the day is not far when Dogra and Dogri will be seen only on the pages of History books. A community which was brought to the map of the world by the great rulers has silently accepted the bifurcation of the same state founded by their ancestor rulerswhich cannot live for long. Still there is time but not much, Dogra’s have to make decisions immediately.
