Time to open schools
An educated society and country can only achieve the destination of progress and prosperity. Illiteracy leads to the era of darkness, superstition, poverty, mistrust and finally towards destruction. As such education has been made compulsory for every child in all the countries of the world and various legislations have been enforced to ensure the education for each and every child. The present society is now well aware of the significance of education for their wards so they make all out efforts to provide the best and quality education to their children including girl child. Now the parents are as much worried about the education of their girl child as are about their boy child. Girls are provided all opportunities by their parents to go for the best education. Former President of India and great educationist Dr. S. Radhakrishnan has once said that if we educate a girl, we educate a family. This reflects that seriousness of the government for the education of the children both boys and girls, In the year 2020 the world was gripped by the deadly virus named Covid-19 which forced the governments to enforce Covid curfew and all activities including trade, travel, tourism, working of all kinds and everywhere came to standstill. Educational institutions were the first to be closed as the lives of children were more at risk than the lives of elders. But since March 2020 the continuous closure of educational institutions has on the other hand created a very complicated situation for the government, children, parents and educational institutions. None of these are in a position to take any final decision about the closure or opening of school-colleges. But keeping the students away from the places of learning can neither be good for students nor for the society and nor for the country. Now the wave of Covid has come to its lowest level, if not completely died, not only in India but also across the world. As such any delay in the opening of the schools from the primary level will not be in the interest of children, the future of the nation. Government must without any further delay announce the reopening of schools and colleges and also all other educational institutions including higher and technical institutes. Further delay will spoil the future of our coming generations.
