The world has always been ruled by men who have muscles, mind and money. In fact those who have money and are in a position to use their mind for self interest have the ability to rule the world. It is not necessary for them to form a government and be the head of that government and rule, but to install a government which dances to their tunes is important. Initially the men with muscles were used to occupy the seat of power by their physical power and of course the wealth they have in their possession that too accumulated by force. Then came a period when the wealthy and man with muscles avoided being in front and ruled the world directly. They instead chose the way to put fools and their puppets in front and made the leaders to occupy the chair of power. These puppets used to act according to their desire and always were ready to obey the orders of their masters. It is now almost clear that the rule of the world has slipped into the hands of the rich and affluent class. This has been happening for centuries, but the spread of education in the last about eight to ten centuries made people aware of their rights and the means of exploitation being used by the rich. After several protests and regional level revolutions by the masses, the authorities in several nations were forced to form and enact several laws to secure the rights of the common man and to ensure humanistic behavior with them. This remained in practice for about two centuries and then the rich, with the help of politicians and bureaucrats started the process of eroding these laws systematically. Now once again, the common man has been pushed back to the era of slavery. For a long time, the wealthy class was slowly but steadily making efforts that it should have authority over power, if not directly or at least indirectly. They had succeeded in many countries known as developed countries, and in developing countries too this class was making all out efforts to control the power. They have now succeeded in almost all the countries to hold on to power. For this they had used several tactics and applied various methods to bring people under their influence. Religion and regionalism were the most powerful tools of those tactics and their application has yielded the desired results for them. After being successful in the initial stages to divide the common man and divert his attention from the basic issues, they modified their style of dividing the society in the name of the same two issues, religion and regionalism. In the Indian subcontinent and several other countries religion is placed above all, as such people of these countries despite all efforts of the awakened fall prey to the tactics of the capitalist class which is in control of the government. So there are still very little chances of improvement in the pathetic condition of the masses.
